How to count your successes

Most of the time, we fall to the mistake whereby we believe that successful people are also extraordinary people. Unfortunately, this belief is not entirely our fault. We’re surrounded with media that tells us that to be awesome, brilliant, and successful you have to do something exceptional.

To the contrary, success should be counted in the more ordinary and more frequent doses. The little time you sacrificed today to play with your son, the short 30-minute walk you found time to go for, the 5-minute meditation technique you spent time on, the little writing or drawing you worked on…. the list is infinite. But as you can see, it is very ordinary.

Celebrate the ordinary, the every day deeds. Then when you stop one day and look back at them summed up, you’ll be surprised to see how very extraordinary they – and you – are 🙂
