You are nobody.
No one owes you anything. Not even Life itself.
Your health, your education, and the fact that you have shelter, clothes and you don’t have to worry about your next meal… these may be things you have.
But they are not Rights.
Life does not owe you anything. If you have to pass through a moment of pain, then so be it. Why do you even have to ask ‘Why me?’ Rather, ask yourself ‘Why not me?’
You’re a speck of dust in an enormous universe. Your riches, your family, your friends and all the good things in life are just as crucially and equally important as is your suffering, your pains and your bad experiences. Both are to your benefit.
So when the next act of injustice comes knocking at your door – for it will, sometime or other – don’t put on a frown like you don’t deserve it. Nobody deserves it; nobody deserves neither the pain nor the joy in their lives. No, not even joy. Nothing is a privilege. Just be thankful for whatever you have and also have not, because it makes you who you are. And you should be proud of who you are.
If you know all this, it might help you. If you believe it, however, it will change your life. It will make you feel for your fellow man. It will make you want to intervene, not just help them. Words will never suffice to explain what you will become. But one can say it will make you a better person. Not morally better, neither superior.
No. Just more human.
And the world doesn’t need anything more than it needs humans
(whoever tells you 7.something billion is too much, is a liar!)
