On the wisdom of knowing whether you have to change the things you cannot accept or accept them and find peace, I would like to say just a few words. Because in today’s day and age, it seems that this acceptance, this form of surrender to any given situation in your life which is hard to accept, is often viewed as defeat. And i say so based on some conversation which i’ve had in the recent past.
Defeat is one thing, surrender is another. And we often confuse the difference, or think there’s no difference at all. Unfortunate, very unfortunate.
See, defeat means you have given up on the situation ever changing. Surrender, on the other hand, means you are ready to give the situation its own time to change. For better or for worse, you’re going to take a deep breath and let the situation take its course for a while, and then act accordingly. And there is completely nothing wrong with that. To the contrary, you might eventually come to discover that by doing so, you’re now in a new situation, a new place bearing the results you’d never ever imagined could be possible.
Surrender, when you can. It is good. It can be very rewarding, surprisingly enough. It can lead you to places you’ve never seen before. Surrender. It’s okay to do so. You’ll see.
