Sometimes, all a broken heart needs to listen to is not advice. Not scolding. Not preaching.
Despite how often we feel that is what a hurt person needs to hear, we are often wrong.
What they need is understanding. Someone who tells them they’ve been there, maybe. Someone who tells them “well, i don’t blame you!”
So we should quit adopting that ‘oh get a grip on yourself!’ attitude. It is very harmful, more often than not. More often than we believe.
